Meeting to Finalize Blanket Approval Requests for Non-Approved Postgraduate Degree Programs by the UGC
The Centre for Quality Assurance of Eastern University, Sri Lanka, convened a meeting on May 30, 2025, at the University Boardroom to finalize the blanket approval requests for postgraduate degree programs not yet approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
The primary objective of the meeting was to review and finalize the submission of blanket approval requests, along with the required documentation, to be forwarded to the Quality Assurance Council (QAC) of the UGC by the Faculty of Graduate Studies (FGS).
Workshop on Enhancing Staff Expertise on SLQF and SBSs
The Centre for Quality Assurance of Eastern University, Sri Lanka, successfully conducted a workshop titled "Enhancing Staff Expertise on the Sri Lanka Qualifications Framework (SLQF) and Subject Benchmark Statements (SBSs)" on May 29, 2025. The event was held at the Boardroom of the Faculty of Arts and Culture.
Discussion to Develop Action Plan for Internal Institutional Review Recommendations
The Centre for Quality Assurance (CQA) of Eastern University, Sri Lanka, successfully organized a discussion session focused on the development of an Action Plan for the implementation of recommendations from the Internal Institutional Review (IIR) of the Trincomalee Campus. The session took place on 22nd May 2025 at the Boardroom of the Rector’s Office, Trincomalee Campus.
Workshop on Implementation of the Moderator Report and 2nd Examiner Report
The Centre for Quality Assurance conducted a Workshop on the Implementation of the Moderator Report and the Second Examiner Report on March 14, 2025. The event took place in the Boardroom of the Swamy Vipulananda Institute of Aesthetic Studies (SVIAS) at Eastern University, Sri Lanka.
Quality Audit for Study Programmes - FCM
The Centre for Quality Assurance (CQA) conducted a Quality Audit on Bachelor of Commerce Honours study programme offered by the Faculty of Commerce and Management (FCM), Eastern University, Sri Lanka on 09.12.2024 at the faculty from 09.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.
The purpose of this audit was to ensure the degree programme is meeting the standards specified in the Programme Review Manual and complying with the SLQF requirements.
Quality Assurance Cell for Career Guidance Unit
The CQA had a discussion on the Establishment of a Quality Assurance Cell for the Career Guidance Unit (CGU) on 28.10.2024 at the CGU, EUSL.
The purpose of the Quality Assurance Cell is to ensure the programmes offered by the CGU to meet the standards specified in the manual of the Institutional Review, and the Programme Review.
Internal Institutional Review – SVIAS.
The Centre for Quality Assurance conducted a Site Visit for the Internal Institutional Review (IIR) on 21st & 22nd October, 2024 at the Swamy Vipulananda Institute of Aesthetic Studies (SVIAS), Eastern University, Sri Lanka.
The purpose of this IIR was as a mock review for the preparation of Institutional Review of the UGC.
