15th Sri Lanka University Games (SLUG 2025) – Opening Ceremony 

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Sri Lanka Universities Sports Association (SLUSA) was held at 10.30 am on the 31st of March 2023 at the Wayamba University of Sri Lanka.  

Prof N. Rajeshwarn was Elected as a Chairman of the Sri Lanka University Sports Association. 

The Sri Lanka Senior National SUMO Wrestling Championship - 2023 was held on the 5th of February  2023, It was organized by Sri Lanka SUMO Federation. 

In this event, four students represented Eastern University, Sri Lanka and they won one gold medal and three silver medals.

The Sri Lanka Inter University Games 2022 main events were held from November 12th to 8th January 2023, and were organized by Sri Lanka University Sports Association.

Wrestling

(VAAJ Junior Premier League)

Our student Ms. A.Tharsika Faculty of Arts and culture, has been selected to represent the Sri Lanka National University Basketball team to participate in the above Championship, it is an all-

Island event, which was participated by all the clubs. The selection trials were held on the 14th of October 2022 at the University of Peradeniya. 

International Day of University Sports (IDUS) on 20/09/2022 at the University of Colombo with the participation of 16 universities with Senior Prof. Chandana P. Uduwatta as the Chief Guest, UGC Vice Presiden and  Senior Prof. H. D. Karunaratne University of Colombo Vice-Chancellor was also the guest of honour.

The Sri Lanka University Sports Association (SLUSA) was chaired by Dr N Rajeswaran. Successfully celebrated.

Invitational University kabaddi championship 2022, was held on the 17^th of September 2022 at the University of Colombo.
 

Annual General Meeting – 2022 of Sri Lanka Universities Sports Association was successfully held on 21st of June 2022 at Eastern University, Sri Lanka. Dr. N. Rajeshwaran, Senior Lecturer, Department of Commerce, Eastern University, Sri Lanka was elected as the President of Sri Lanka Universities Sports Association.

National Novices JUDO championship – 2022, Which was held at Trincomalee from 18th to 20th March 2022. Eastern University men’s team Participated in the above championship.
