Centre for Industry and Community Linkages (CICL) of EUSL organized an informative event on that topic, which has taken place in the EUSL boardroom on January 9, 2026, at 10:00 am and 2:00 pm. The resource person, Prof. Govindasamy Tamizhmani, a research professor of engineering at Arizona State University's Polytechnic School in the United States, presented talks and led two workshops on the subject of solar cells.

Eastern University, Sri Lanka, celebrated its 43rd anniversary with a University Week from 1st to 6th October 2024. As part of this celebration, an event called University Visit Day (Open Day) was organized for students and the public in the region on October 4th 2024, under the guidance of Eastern University Vice-Chancellor, Professor Vallipuram Kanakasingham, and the leadership of the Director of the Eastern University Center for Industry and Community Linkages (CICL), Professor Kandasamy Arulanandam.

A collaborative discussion was held on 15.12.2022 with the distinguished participation of Academic staff from the Faculty of Agriculture and Faculty of Technology to meet the farmer representatives of all divisions through the Chamber of Commerce Industry and Agriculture. Academics are in person and did hear the real issues of Agriculture and understood curiously with novel suggestions. Several inputs from the farmers lead to important conclusions of essential Famer-based contextualized educational training and comprehensive farming community-based research.

The office of the Centre for Industry and Community Linkages (CICL) was officially declared open on 07.07.2022.

In the grand opening ceremony Prof. V. Kanagaingam, Vice chancellor, EUSL graced the occasion as Chief guest. Dr E. Srinaath, MOH, Chenkalady attended as a special guest and Dr K. Arulanandem, Director CICL organized the ceremony.
