Vision

Providing and training for Eastern University Srilanka undergraduates to embark on an optimal career and develope the necessary transferable skills including attitude, motivation and skills necessary to become efficient members of the workforce.

Mission

Career Guidance enlightens to bright the skill gap among EUSL students and to build well organized individuals to meet the present day workforce requirements.

Overview

The Career Guidance Unit (CGU) was established in 2004 at Eastern University, Sri Lanka, under UGC guidelines. It acts as a bridge between the university and the professional world, integrating career guidance with academics and conducting research to help students align their career paths wisely.

Career guidance is a vital part of undergraduate education. The CGU helps students choose careers that match their abilities, wishes, and expectations, while also supporting them in managing their academic, personal, and social lives effectively.

The unit's main goal is to produce entrepreneurs and highly employable graduates for state, private, NGO, and self-employment sectors. It also aims to prepare students for the global job market. This is achieved through close collaboration with faculties, academic departments, and industry partners.

The CGU offers a wide range of activities including training, research, community development, and social responsibility initiatives. Its ultimate purpose is to facilitate students' smooth transition from university to the world of work, ensuring they are well-prepared for successful careers.

About us

The Eastern University, Sri Lanka, was established on the 01st of October 1986 by a University Order dated 26th September 1986 issued under Section 2 of the Universities Act No: 16 of 1978.
