Entry requirements
MPhil
- A qualification of SLQF level 7 or above in the relevant field, or
- A Bachelor's Degree of SLQF level 6 (Honors Bachelor's Degree) with a minimum of 30 credits in the relevant field, or
- A Bachelor's Degree of SLQF level 6 (Honors Bachelor's Degree) with a minimum of 30 credits in the relevant field and a qualifying examination, or
- A Bachelor's Degree of SLQF level 5 with a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a scale of 0-4 and successful completion of 30 credits equivalent to SLQF level 5 in the same or a related field, or
- Completion of NVQ level 7 with a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a scale of 0-4 and successful completion of a qualifying examination, conducted after completion of 30 credits equivalent to SLQF level 6 or 7, as determined by the Board of Graduate Studies and the Senate of the EUSL, may also be considered.
PhD
- A Master of Philosophy degree in the relevant field, or
- A Master's degree with a course work and research component with a minimum of 15 credits in the relevant field, or
- A Bachelor's Honors Degree of level 6 with a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a scale of 0-4, with or without a qualifying examination as determined by the Board of Graduate Studies and the Senate, or
- A candidate who has registered to follow the MPhil degree programme may be upgraded to PhD level after a minimum period of one year for full-time and one and a half years for part-time students, provided that his/her research competencies are of exceptional merit and fulfil the basic qualification needed to register for the PhD degree programme.
How to apply and pay
- Application fee: Rs. 5,000.
- Pay to Account No: 227-1001-9-0000390 (People's Bank), Bursar, Eastern University, Sri Lanka.
- Submit or mail the duly completed application form along with the original bank slip to the Assistant Registrar, Faculty of Graduate Studies, Eastern University, Sri Lanka.
