Awareness Programme on Institutional Review - Trincomalee Campus
The Quality Assurance Unit of the Trincomalee Campus, Eastern University, Sri Lanka, in collaboration with the Centre for Quality Assurance, successfully conducted an Awareness Programme on Institutional Review for non-academic staff members of the Trincomalee Campus on 06 May 2026 at the Auditorium of the Trincomalee Campus.
The programme aimed to enhance the awareness and active involvement of non-academic staff in the Institutional Review process. The Institutional Reviews conducted by the University Grants Commission assess various aspects of university performance, including governance, administration, student support services, and infrastructure; therefore, the contribution of non-academic staff is essential to achieving a successful review outcome.
The sessions were facilitated by Senior Prof. S. Sutharsan, Senior Professor in Crop Science, Faculty of Agriculture, Eastern University, Sri Lanka, and Prof. P. Elango, Director of the Centre for Quality Assurance, Eastern University, Sri Lanka. Both resource persons, who have extensive experience as UGC reviewers, shared valuable insights into the Institutional Review process, quality assurance practices, and the role of non-academic staff in supporting institutional excellence.
The programme provided participants with a better understanding of review requirements, evidence management, and quality enhancement practices. The active participation of attendees reflected the Campus's commitment to fostering a strong quality culture and ensuring continuous institutional improvement.
